I think it would be fun to visit all the state parks in Vermont. This page is a record of my progress on that goal. It is a bit sketchy at the moment, but as the idea matures, I may flesh out this page with more useful information.
Button Bay. 2019-11-16: A cute park on a scenic bay of Lake Champlain. Here is a view of the bay from a grassy area near the shore.
Grand Isle. 2019-11-17: A nice camping spot on the lake. There is a pebble beach for swimming. Here is a view from one of the lean-to sites.
Half Moon Pond. 2019-12-15: This picture is of the pond from the camping area. There is also a nice trail up to "High Pond," which is a smaller, more isolated body of water.
Kingsland Bay. 2020-01-05: This picture is taken from the porch of one of the park buildings looking out over the bay. This is a popular spot for weddings, for obvious reasons.
Knight Point. 2020-02-16: This picture was taken from a loop trail that went along the lake front.
Little River. 2019-11-10: The park was technically closed (off season), but hiking, skiing, etc., are still allowed. My first picture is of the Worchester range across Waterbury Reservoir. My second picture is of Stevenson Brook from along the nature trail.
Mt. Philo. 2019-11-23: The road to the summit was closed to car traffic, but many people use it as a hiking path to the summit. I took a picture from the top, overlooking the Champlain Valley.
Niquette Bay. 2019-11-09: It was windy and cold today. I got a picture of the sand beach on Lake Champlain.
North Hero. 2020-03-14: A picture looking northeast from the beach area.
